We're a small independent studio, and we've built this site to collect as little about you as we possibly can. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what that means. A solicitor will give it a proper once-over before everything goes fully live, but we wanted it readable rather than buried in legalese.
The short version
If you sign up for updates, we keep your email address so we can email you. To stop bots spamming that form, we briefly remember your IP address for about an hour, then it deletes itself. Our host keeps standard server logs, like every website does. That's genuinely it, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Your email address, only if you choose to subscribe. We use it to send you the devlogs, milestones, and demo invites you signed up for, and nothing else.
- Your IP address, briefly, when you submit the signup form we hold your IP for about an hour, purely to rate-limit the form against spam bots. After that it's deleted automatically.
- Standard server logs, our host, Cloudflare, keeps the usual logs (things like IP and request time) that every host keeps for security and reliability.
- One cookie, to remember your cookie choice once you've made it. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.
We do not collect your name, run any analytics, use tracking or advertising cookies, or take any payment details on this site. If you back us on Patreon, that's handled entirely by Patreon under their own privacy policy.
YouTube videos
Some devlog posts include videos hosted on YouTube. To respect your privacy, these don't load until you allow them, either by accepting marketing cookies in the cookie banner, or by clicking the video to play it. Once a video loads, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies, covered by Google's privacy policy. If you never load a video, YouTube never hears from your browser.
Some of our links (like the video posts on the news page) take you straight to YouTube or other third-party sites in a new tab. Once you follow one, you're on their site under their own privacy policy, not ours.
How we use it
- To send you the updates you asked for.
- To reply when you get in touch.
- To keep the site secure and free of spam.
We never use your data for advertising, and we never sell or rent it to anyone.
Who we share it with
We don't share your data to make money, ever. The only companies that touch it are the ones that help us run the site: Cloudflare (hosting and the database that stores subscriber emails) and YouTube / Google (only if you choose to load a video). Each handles data under their own terms.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and similar laws, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data.
- Unsubscribe at any time (every email has a one-click link).
Just email info@deltagamestudios.com and we'll sort it. If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
How long we keep it
We keep your email only until you unsubscribe. The temporary IP record from the signup form deletes itself after about an hour. Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for their standard retention period.
Changes & contact
If we change anything meaningful here, we'll update the date at the top. Any questions, requests, or concerns, email info@deltagamestudios.com or use the contact page. We're happy to help.
